We were very determined to get a toilet in! We are more then ready to get rid of the port a pot. After the walls were done we put up green board for privacy. The door is still on order so we hung a curtain on an extension rod for the door. It works nicely. You would think that we were the first ever to have working plumbing, we were so happy when the first bit of water filled up the toilet tank.
The tile floor has been finished and grouted. We had tried a new product because they didn’t have the right color of grout in our usual brand. It was a three part mixture. Since this was our first time using this product, we mixed it all like the directions said and applied accordingly. That which was not used dried hard as a rock. Christine was very careful to apply the grout in the intra-tile gaps since this is a rough granite surface tile and it would speed cleanup.
Unfortunately, the grout stained the tile leaving an uneven coloring of the tile surface. She was very careful to remove the haze before the grout was cured, so it was disappointing the next morning when she looked at the grout after it had dried all night. We will opt to apply a polyurethane coating which will give a “wet” look all the time, but which will also even out the color differences.
All that is left is to have the drywall textured and painted.
