We have been working on installing a chain link fence so that the dogs will have a bit of a yard to play in. The fence went up pretty uneventfully. Yes, I know you can't believe it? It was just work. We got a system going and it went together smoothly. The hard part will be adding the premanent brick columns needed between the house and the first fence post. We dug them as close as we could to the house but the small dog could still get out. We will be able to use some of the half bricks that we have left over. Jim is going to pour a small slab and work his way up. For know we just stacked them in loosely without grout.
We have also planted 34 boxwoods to form a hedge when they fill in. It should take a few years. We have been researching grass types for the back yard area. I found a product called Turffalo that is supposed to be VERY heat/drought resistant and only grow to 4 inches tall. Before we can do grass we need to add top soil. I would love to do this soon but it will have to wait a few months or more. We need to get back to the inside now that the dogs can be let out and not watched so closely.
