Our first adventure was building our metal Quonset garage. We wanted to have a spot to store the tools needed to build a dome. The garage came in on a semi truck in sections with buckets of nuts and bolts. We had to unload it without a fork lift. Thank goodness for gloves! We wound up moving the arch pieces more times then I wished to. You have to look at them closely and get them in the right order.
We had the dirt brought in for the garage and house foundations at the same time. We hired JCA Construction to do the concrete slab. The slab had to have special troughs to put the metal panels into. Later when the garage structure was built we filled in the troughs with mortar making sure to have good water run off. We finished the garage and it is serving its purpose nicely. Maybe one day it will see a car or two inside.
When the garage was done we worked on researching material, tape and adhesives to build our Exterior Coating. Jim worked on the gore and augment pattern measurements.
