Monolithic Dome Contractors came out in mid March to do our shot-crete. We had everything set up on the inside so they were able to get right to work. We got a few chuckles from the crew about the exterior look of our dome but they could see what we were trying to do. We had good weather for the spraying. Everything went well. We were able to take off the girdle, turn off the inflator, and cut open some window holes for the last coat of shot-crete.
My big surprise was the amount of rebound from the shot-crete. I shoveled and hauled for days to leave only a small amount on the floor covering to keep it in place while we painted the inside. We now have a nice driveway base to keep us from sinking in the mud when it rains.
