H2O Purifier

We have just installed a whole house water purifer. This was not in our original plans or budget. We came to find the water in our neighborhood co-op is terrible. They pump it full of clorine and it smells, tastes funny and dries out our skin. We had, of course, not left any room for such equipment. With the laundry room /pantry in the back of the house at the end of the water lines it was of no help. We decided to put the purifer under the stairs. We had planned for storage under the stairs so there will be doors to access the purifer to change the sediment filter. The main purifer is a seven stage filter that lasts for 300,000 gallons. That should take a minimum of three years before we need to replace the blue tanks. It also does not use any electricity.

It has been installed for two days now. The water does taste and smell alot better. I wish we would have known that the water was icky to our standards ,so for all of you that will be building in the future, make sure that the water is acceptable to you, if not plan some space for a purifer, softener or whatever you need. It will be much easier to install in the beginning of plumbing work.
